Examining the bullying-suicide link
A new study in a recent issue of the International Journal of Child and Adolescent Health reviewed studies from 13 countries examining the link between bullying and suicide. The researchers reported that almost all of the studies indicated an elevation in suicidal thoughts among victims of bullying, with some studies indicating that the victims were two to five times more likely to report thoughts of suicide. Bullies were also at increased risk for suicidal behaviours. The researchers plan to investigate whether a causal link exist between bullying and suicide or if a third factor increases the risk of both bullying and sucide. You can read more here.
